I was informed that I was going to South Korea 2 weeks before I was due to fly off. I was overjoyed. Nothing better than to get out of Singapore, visit new places and experiencing new things. Though I just got back from a trip to Hong Kong and pretty much broke, I would never give up an opportunity to travel.
There has never been a trip I've been on where I didn't enjoy every minute of it. When I am on a trip I tend to embrace everything about that country. Good or bad. Because isn't that part of the country's identity? Clearly, I am not referring to crimes as well. Unless it's known for that, then why the hell not? I kid.
One thing Hong Kong and Korea has in common is that there are a lot of stairs to climb when you travel by subway. People I know would complain but I sort of embrace them. I feel that we Singaporeans are way too pampered. Escalators literally everywhere. I don't see the harm in just having stairs to climb. Isn't that a form of exercise which is good for our health? Don't you want your nation to be healthy? And if you have some sort of a physical disability, there's always the elevator. Honestly, what is so bad about stairs?
Just a thought.

This trip will be one of the trips I will always remember. I got asked countless times: how was your trip? I feel like I am obliged to say that it was fun but it wasn't fun. I wouldn't use that word to describe my trip but given my very limited vocabulary, I guess it was fun? Haha. Honestly, the whole trip was exhausting, exciting and an eye opener.
I'm not too sure how it was an eye opening trip but I feel different since coming back. Maybe because being there with just my cousin sort of amplifies my love for solitary - to be away from everyone I ever knew. Kind of wanting to start anew, from scratch, but we all know that wouldn't be possible. You can't just run away from your problems, right?
In a more less sentimental way that this trip was an eye opener - I kind of dig K-pop now. Yikes! I never thought this day would ever come. I've listened to a couple of Korean songs before only because it's the official soundtrack of a drama I was watching and the songs eventually grew on me. But after my cousin kept blasting EXO's songs in our apartment, I got hooked. My bias is Tao and Xiumin is a close second. <333 I don't even know who I am anymore.
Anyway, a video of footages I took while I was there is currently in the making! I think it will take about a month more - it is not as easy as I thought it would. Plus, I was a bit reluctant making it because the footages I took didn't look as good as I thought it would. Oh well.
