A trip to Hong Kong was such a refresher. Though I was not really advised to visit Hong Kong during the summer, I regret nothing! The heat and humidity did not stop me though at one nano point the heat was just too much. Perks of growing up in sunny Singapore!

From my own experience, it is entirely okay to travel to Hong Kong alone. I checked into a hostel that was located in a building that looked like it came from the hood. But what's important was that the room was clean. I'm not looking into travelling in style and luxury but to absorb as much as I can on what Hong Kong has to offer.  Which includes spending my last night in Hong Kong at the airport because my flight was at 6 in the morning and I'm not paying for an extra night in the hostel and for a cab to the airport because the train doesn't start operating till 5-6 in the morning. Call me a 'cheapo' but I'd rather spend my money on better things than a single good night sleep.

I have an amazing sense of direction if I do say so myself. Spent a lot of time on Google Maps before my trip just in case I can't get WiFi or find a map. No, I will never spend on data roaming for the love of God. I did get WiFi at the airport upon landing and also found a map which was a lot of help. But without the technology we're blessed with and with only a map in hand, I'm sure it's impossible to get lost in Hong Kong.

I had a great time in Hong Kong! I really wished the entire trip was solo. It did get pretty lonely coming towards the middle of my first day while aimlessly walking around Ocean Park and forcing myself onto every single roller coaster ride even though my eyes were half open and my legs were exhausted from all the hills I had to climb. On top of that, I took a selfie on my monopod with my bluetooth remote in the middle of a crowd all by myself because YOLO but I don't have proof because I lost my phone the next day... It sucked that all the pictures I took during my one and only solo day is gone but there's always next time!

I'm not too sure how I should end this post but can I add that I only brought a pair of slippers which I wore on my flight to Hong Kong and another pair of platform sneakers which was a tad too heavy to be worn when you'll be doing a lot of walking? So I ended wearing the sneakers for the first 2 days and wore my slippers for the remaining 4 because I'm all in for the comfort rather than tire myself in order to look good and be grumpy the moment I feel like it's too much.
